Three ways to style the season’s must-have scarves
Sometimes our wardrobe needs a burst of novelty but we’re not prepared for a complete overhaul. It’s during moments like these, that we can truly appreciate the timeless appeal and versatility of scarves. Ask seasoned fashionistas, who swear by the benefits of working with a classic wardrobe while having their favourite scarves on rotation, and they’ll admit that there’s no better way of injecting seasonal newness through colour and/or print into your everyday outfits.
Scarves make excellent travel companions too taking up practically no space in your carry on and dutifully zinging up your tight capsule wardrobe while you’re on the go. Farah Khan Ali’s latest cruise collection, made up of roomy scarves in beautiful colours and prints combinations, is perfect for this purpose. Add to this her clever lineup of ornamental scarf clasps that add a luxe finishing touch to your look. As a bonus we’ve put together three fun ways to style these scarves and clasps.
The sexy beach coverup

The likes of Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren have turned the act of relaxing on a deck chair by the sea into a beautiful art form. For your very own moment in the sun hit the beach in your favourite bathing suit equipped with nothing but a scarf and we’ll show you how to turn it into a coverup and more. To start fully open the scarf and hold it behind you. Now grab the top ends and bring them to the front. Cross the ends at your collarbone and knot them at the nape of the neck to make a halter. If you’re hitting the club for some cocktails after, use a blingy clasp to fasten the scarf ends together where they cross in the front. Cinch at the waist with a skinny belt for added oomph.
The endless arm-party

This achingly cool hack is for the times your boring T-shirt-jeans combo needs an instant pick-me-up. Lay the scarf on a flat surface. Grab one end of the scarf and fold it diagonally over the opposite end to form a triangle. Now start rolling the scarf until it ultimately forms a band that’s about two inches high. Place the back of your wrist at the centre of this band and wrap it around your wrist tightly until you’ve exhausted all the fabric. Fasten with a double knot. You can bling up your new accessory with the addition of a clasp at the centre of the band or by layering your favourite bracelets over it.
