Farah Khan traces her origins back to Persia, with roots in Parsi aristocracy, as she is descended from ancestors who came to India in the eighth century and settled in the city of Bombay. And when she designs, when she creates, she likes to dig into her own richly textured past, reinvent it and reimagine it for the future. There is a nostalgia to her, and she is attracted to all things vintage, enticed by Renaissance art and the poetry of the Romantics, enchanted by history.
