Farah Khan Ali celebrated 25 years as a jewellery designer and gemologist and 15 years of her brand Farah Khan Fine Jewellery with the launch of a sumptuous coffee table book that tells the story of this artist, entrepreneur and dreamer. A Rizzoli Books publication, Farah Khan: A Bejewelled Life is the first book by an Indian jewellery designer to receive an international release in 70 countries worldwide on 2 April 2019. It was launched in India on 16 April 2019 at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. Farah Khan: A Bejewelled Life takes readers into Farah’s inner world, which is as much star-studded glamour as it is profound poetic musings and whimsical artistic flourishes. Not to mention, the most exquisite gems and jewels. Driven by an urge to create and collaborate, Farah shares space in the book with artists, photographers and poets who inspire her and embody the five creative themes that influence her vision: Fluidity, Royal Flair, Naturalia, The Rose and Surreal Vision. Farah was born to Bollywood royalty and grew up in the glare of fame, but she forged her own path with Farah Khan Fine Jewellery, which has been worn by the likes of Beyoncé, Serena Williams and every A-list Hollywood and Bollywood star. It’s only fitting, then, that her first book is introduced by three women at the top of their own game. Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, author and columnist Twinkle Khanna and industrialist Tanya Godrej Dubash have written forewords for Farah Khan: A Bejewelled Life. A Bejewelled Life was launched on 3 April in New York at the Rizzoli Bookstore and on 10 May in Hong Kong. Early reviews have started rolling in from the international press. Kyle Roderick had this to say on Forbes.com: “This magic carpet of a book interweaves dreamy photographs of flowers, rivers, oceans and animals, such as elephants swimming in turquoise waters, with reproductions of European and Indian paintings that inspire Khan’s creations.” In India, A Bejewelled Life was unveiled in an art event on 16 April, at the landmark Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. The heritage venue will have specially mounted art installations and exhibitions of the works of young and emerging artists whose talent Farah would like to share with the world.
