Cue: Wanderlust
Cue: Wanderlust
The two ingredients Farah looks for in every magical journey

I’m drawn most to two kinds of destinations: places rich with culture and heritage, like Jaipur or Istanbul, and landscapes of pristine natural beauty, like the Andaman Islands or the isles of Capri. As much as I am a traveller and seeker of fresh sensations, I am at heart an old soul. I can spend hours wandering through decadent palaces or taking in the quaint charm of a city’s heritage precincts. I always return to my sketching board inspired re-imagine timeless art and architecture, whether it be the vaulted ceilings of an old Goan church or a Mughal mural in a Rajput mansion, in a contemporary way through my designs.
And then there’s my eternal muse—nature. My happiest childhood memories were centred around water. My family would spend nearly every summer in Mauritius, where we swam and spent days on the boat. Being on the beach fills up my senses, from the roaring crash of the waves to the salty tang in the breeze to that sharp crunch of sand under my bare feet. On a recent holiday in Brazil, I decided on a whim to swim in the cool green currents of the Amazon river. It was an almost mystical experience.
When I travel, I whole-heartedly welcome adventure, magic and anything else the universe throws at me. I don’t just go with the flow, I become the flow. Travelling teaches you to surrender the illusion of control and allow your mind to be forever altered.
